Running shoes feature in a lot of different shapes and sizes. Each runner has a different running style and therefore needs a pair of fitting running shoes. Some runners need a slight correction of the feet when they run, other runners don’t need this. Our range of running shoes consists of two general categories, namely neutral running shoes and running shoes for overpronators.
- Neutral running shoes: these running shoes are especially designed for runners with midfoot landing or runners who land on the outside of their heel, and who use the middle of the forefoot for take off.
- Overpronator running shoes: these running shoes are especially designed for runners who land on the outside of their heel and whose ankles collapse to the inside during take off (overpronators).
The difference between these two categories is that the running shoes for overpronators offer extra medial support. They feature a harder material on the inside of the midsole which corrects the ankle during landing and take off. Neutral running shoes don’t have this correction. About half of all runners need shoes with a correction.
Next to the essential difference between neutral running shoes and running shoes for overpronators there is also a lot difference between shoes within these categories. Some running shoes offer sturdier support for the somewhat heavier runners, and some running shoes are made as lightweight as possible for athletes who want to break records.
